This is a group for anyone who has ever been curious about how to make a book. Whether you're a writer who wants to bind your own books, an artist who wants to create unique pieces, a photographer wanting to create an anthology of your work, a crafter who wants to learn new skills. Based out of the San Francisco Center for the book, this group will also be a resource for Bay Area materials, workshops, events, exhibition and fairs.

If the thought of Maxine Hong Kingston’s The Woman Warrior fascinates you and you've been pondering Murasaki Shikibu's The Tale of Genji for some time, then this is the book club for you!  Slice of Mooncake is based in San Francisco and will focus on literature primarily by Asian American authors, but will also embrace stories centered on Asian culture, history, and icons. Selection of readings will be suggested by both the Organizer and members, and include current fiction, nonfiction, classics …

We decided to start this group so that those of us who love to scrapbook can meet to share ideas, inspirations, and new techniques. We invite members to post events they are organizing, and we will be posting a series of crop nights and book making classes that we hope to offer in the year ahead. Most of all, we hope to connect with those who love to scrapbook- love the attempt to capture some of the most beautiful moments of our lives in carefully done lay outs.
